This six- hour online course is designed to equip individuals who may have an Emergency Management or crisis role, or for people who wish to build their knowledge and understanding around the UK risk landscape and crisis environment.
There are 6 interactive modules that cover topics including: how the crisis and emergency management legislation and regulations came into force, understanding the Civil Contingencies Act (2004), the roles and responsibilities of CAT1 and CAT2 responders during an incident, JESIP principles and Rest Centres as well as many more topics.
Each module includes a short quiz, additional reading and each is accessible with audios to accompany written sections and videos with subtitles via closed caption. There is the opportunity for individual reflection and further action planning at the end of the course.
This course is ideal for learners who are newly appointed into an Emergency or Crisis type role, in both public or private sectors and need a grounding in the fundamentals of the sector. It will also be of interest to those in humanitarian roles, new to risk and resilience roles in organisations or anyone with an interest in the sector.
Upon successful completion of the course learners will receive a downloadable certificate, awarding 6 CPD points as recognition of their achievement.
